Cookie notice
This notice explains the cookies and similar storage technologies used on governanceai.io. We keep this to the essentials: our default analytics set no cookies, we use no advertising cookies, and we do not track you across other websites.
Last updated 31 May 2026.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website can store on your device. "Similar technologies" includes things like local storage, which a site can use to remember a setting in your browser. We use the word "cookies" below to cover both.
What we use, and why
This is an informational marketing website with no accounts, no login and no payments, so we keep storage to a minimum. We use:
- Strictly necessary storage. A small amount of data may be used to keep the site secure and working, for example to protect against abuse or to deliver pages reliably. These are required for the site to function and cannot be switched off through a preference banner.
- Preference storage. We store your choices locally in your browser so the site can remember them — for example a light or dark appearance, and the privacy choices you make below. These stay on your device, are not tracking identifiers, and are not shared with anyone.
How we measure use of the site
Privacy-first analytics — on by default, no cookies. We use PostHog, hosted in the European Union, in a fully cookieless mode. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. It counts visitors with a privacy-preserving measure that is not designed to identify you and is not used to track you across other websites. Because it sets no cookies and does not identify individuals, it does not require a consent banner — but you can opt out at any time under Your choices below.
Google Analytics — only with your consent. To understand how people find us, we may use Google Analytics, which does set cookies and shares data with Google. It is switched off by default and loads only if you accept it. Where it is offered, we ask with a banner that gives "Accept" and "Reject" equal weight and sets nothing until you choose. We use Google's Consent Mode, so no analytics or advertising cookies are set unless you accept, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time under Your choices below.
Your choices
You can change how we measure your visit at any time, right here. Turning privacy-first analytics off stops measurement of your visits in this browser. Where Google Analytics is offered, you can accept or reject it here too. These controls remember your choice on this device.
Privacy-first analytics
Cookieless usage measurement (PostHog, hosted in the EU). Sets no cookies and never tracks you across other sites. On by default; turn it off here at any time.
What we do not use
- No advertising cookies. We do not use cookies to serve adverts or to build an advertising profile of you.
- No cross-site tracking. We do not track your activity across other websites or sell any data to third parties.
Managing cookies in your browser
Beyond the choices above, you can control and delete cookies and clear local storage through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or remove stored data, and offer a private-browsing mode. If you block strictly necessary storage, some parts of the site may not work as expected. To reset your preferences, clear this site's data in your browser.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice if the storage the site uses changes. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of the page.
