Tom Proverbs - Garbett

Tom Proverbs-Garbett is an experienced governance consultant and solicitor with over 15 years in professional services across various sectors. A Fellow of the Chartered Governance Institute, Tom specialises in corporate governance, directors’ duties, board effectiveness, and subsidiary management. He holds postgraduate degrees in law, education, and business, and previously led governance and company secretarial functions at a top-20 law firm.

During Karl George’s tenure as a Partner at RSM, Tom served as an Associate Director in Karl’s governance team, working closely on governance advisory and board support. He is also anAssociate of The Governance Forum, where he offers expert company secretarial support, particularly regarding board operations, compliance frameworks,and governance reporting.

Recently, Tom has contributed to the delivery of Governance AI services, thought leadership, and will assist in integrating AI governance into strategic oversight to align with governance standards. In 2024, he founded TrustPoint Governance, known for his collaborative and solution-focused approach.

In addition to his consultancy work, Tom regularly writes on governance matters and is dedicated to professional and personal development, with interests including education and tennis.
